Hello, I'm Jen
I’m Jen. I am the founder, owner and lead badass of Jen Plus Colour Weddings AND The Luckiest Hare Salon.
I live in sunny and warm (sometimes WAY too hot) Palm Springs, California.
My journey began in 2002, while still a junior in high school. The beauty school I attended was poorly managed and nearly burned to the ground on a daily basis. But, despite these obstacles, my teacher’s heart and love for us students inspired me. They instilled in us the importance of pursuing our dreams and continuing our education, regardless of obstacles. These experiences and challenges shaped me into the professional I am today. It’s not always about attending prestigious schools or living in the right zip code; it’s the hard work and determination that truly drive success.
I believe in mastering the rules so I can break them creatively. My goal is to understand my clients deeply, helping them embrace their most authentic selves. No two people who sit in my chair are the same and no two stories are alike.
I LOVE stories --Both Hearing them and sharing them.
When we meet, I guarantee that we'll laugh, learn and sometimes even cry together. My ultimate aim is for you to trust me with more than just your hair and makeup.
A bit of business info: I work behind the chair at The Luckiest Hare from Tuesdays to Saturdays and also assist couples on their wedding days. My Jen Plus Colour Wedding team and I book about 55 weddings a year.

5 fun facts:
1. I'm the mother to 3 amazing kids: 15, 17 and 19 years old!
2. I love exploring museums, the weirder the better! Just not the Museum of Death, that one's too weird. 3. I have the cutest dog named Piper. I adopted her 12 years ago and she's part Corgi and Papillion. I also have a "step-dog" named Wednesday, she is a Chihuahua and Terrier mix. We have two cats; a black and white Tuxedo, Echo and Calico named Maeve. 4. My favorite movies are comedies: Hot Rod, Mean Girls, Jojo Rabbit and Bridesmaids. 5. I have 4 brothers and have had 8 foster siblings throughout my childhood (Our house was never quiet). BONUS FACT: I proposed to my partner of 7 years on 10/7/23 by tattooing "Will You Marry Me" on my ankles. She said "yes!". We got married at the Shag House in Palm Springs, 9/29/24.

If I could say anything to 8 year old me:
Don't give up. Keep going. You're going to think you know everything at a young age. But, hold on, baby girl, it's going to be a wild ride. Life is going to be challenging. Be patient, listen more, love bigger. Your dreams are far larger then you can imagine now. I love you and I'm proud of you. |
